Ingrid Furtado had been in product management and advertising, first with a major bank and then with an advertising agency before she decided to switch to real estate. After having children, she realized that she needed more flexible work environment in order to spend time with and care for her young children. Ingrid became a realtor in 2007, enjoying the greater control over her schedule and activities. The new career fit her personality well and was exactly what she was hoping for, complete with the unpredictability of business and challenge of working with different people and housing types. Today, Ingrid especially enjoys the design & staging aspect of the business. Ingrid thinks of each client as a long-term relationship. Her client could start with a small deal and eventually lead to a big deal. Her philosophy is to pay attention to detail and make sure everything goes smoothly. Ingrid’s key for success is to constantly work hard; prospecting, following up, doi ng open houses, and keeping in touch with her network of clients.
