Ron Roach entered real estate in 1989 during the recession. It was a pragmatic move borne out of necessity. He had been laid off, along with one-third of the staff from the Toronto Office of Lloyd’s of London, where he had worked since 1974 as part of the office financial team. At the time, Ron had just bought his second house and had a new baby so he was focused and motivated. He joined a brokerage and worked under two experienced realtors who told him what to do, how to do it and when to do it. Ron began door knocking in East York and continued it for 16 years effectively building his clientele. Although he prefers numbers over talking, he was able to launch a successful career which provided him with 5 really good years at a time when the market was bad. Ron’s key to success is customer contact. Today, Ron does most of his deals from past client and referrals.
