Joyce LeClair began her real estate career in 1987. Having worked both in the corporate world and in retail services she had discovered as a young person that she loved sales. However, Joyce realized being a young and attractive lady was an obstacle to being taken seriously and it drove her to try different career opportunities. She stumbled upon real estate when buying her first home which was tenanted. Observing how Joyce handled the situation, her realtor at the time told her that she could have done the deal herself and that she should go into real estate. Once a realtor, Joyce discovered she liked the independence, the variety from day to day, the freedom, the challenges and the roller-coaster ride of highs and lows. One of the disadvantages that she learned to work with is the sometimes long hours and lack of set times which makes it difficult to maintain life balance. For Joyce life balance is key for success not just in real estate but in life in general. Her philosophy is to do a good job, be yourself and do unto others as you want others to do unto you. Joyce’s advantage over most other realtors is that she doesn’t lose her cool, works very well under pressure and is very diplomatic.
