Doug Williams began his real estate career in 1998. Previously, he worked in outside sales selling home heating oil contracts, furnaces and appliances. Having always wanted to be in real estate he decided to trade in his company position for greater freedom in his schedule and flexibility in running his own business. Doug enjoys making his own plans and business decisions. Transitioning from a job that was based on one-shot deals to an environment of repeat business, he quickly realized the necessity to shift from a short-term perspective to a longer-term perspective. This meant Doug had to engage in follow-up, disciplined routine and planning ahead, especially with his client contact and relationship management. His strength is his caring for his clients, which he expresses through empathy and by making sure to listen to their whole story and total concerns, before offering solutions. Doug believes that the key for success as a realtor is to connect, keep in touch and ask for referrals.
