David brings a wealth of knowledge to Real Estate Homeward from prior careers in residential development and high-end commercial construction.
He first graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree then obtained his Certificate in Facility Management shortly thereafter. He also has a Seniors Real Estate Specialist designation through National Association of Realtors and is in the process of obtaining the UBC/AIC Post-graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation.
After completing his university education, David worked for over 10 years in real estate development having various roles from Land Planning Co-ordinator with a major Toronto real estate developer to Business Development Manager with a major construction/contracting firm that did high-end commercial interiors.
Taking a break from that, for the next 10 years David put his Finance/Marketing education to use as a Marketing Manager with a division of Thomson Reuters marketing their tax, finance and accounting products nationally and internationally. During those years, David also did geographical real estate analysis work as a consultant for private investors. Due to his interest in real estate, David obtained his real estate licence and left corporate life to start a new career in real estate (again).
Today approximately half of David’s clients are seniors, which he decided to focus on when he noticed that many seniors were not being given the care and attention they needed to make the transition from homes to seniors facilities less stressful. The remainder are a nice mix of international and previous clients...helping them all find the right home or cottage.
He is truly a full-service realtor providing assistance with anything to do with real estate. His clients have referred to him as the eternal Boy Scout, always on time, always fully prepared, and always extremely helpful. No doubt David’s childhood involvement with the Boy Scouts left a lasting impression and is reflected in his philosophy, “I will do my best to be a good friend, a good family member, a good citizen; I will do my best to help other people at all times; and I will do my best to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.”
His passion for travel and pretty much any water-related sport also makes him the 'go-to' agent for information on high-end condos, waterfront properties, the Caribbean and waterskiing tips!
