Cristina Osorio started her real estate career in 2009. A stay-at-home mother of two at the time, she was attracted to the business because of a bad experience she had with a real estate agent, in which she felt she could have done better herself. Cristina felt that the level of professional responsibility should have been much more than what other Realtors® provided at the time. She felt you should know clients' needs, and be more than just familiar with neighbourhoods, houses and even neighbours. She built her business from door-knocking in an upcoming neighbourhood where there weren’t a lot of Realtors®. In addition, she leveraged her strong relationship with the Brazilian consulate which she had established through her volunteer activities. She is now the preferred realtor for the ambassador and consulate general. Cristina provides customer service that is based on understanding client needs, where they are coming from and offering possible solutions. Cristin a will provide advice according to lifestyle stage and family planning (day care, maternity leave, etc.) to address where the clients will be in five years. She informs her clients and then they have to make their own decisions. The process of buying a home is stressful and Cristina does it with care to help her clients make it fun and exciting. It’s about 100% customer satisfaction. Her advice to newbies is to get ready to be disappointed with family and friends, they’re not going to use you until they know you’re becoming successful. Meanwhile, go for training, exercise the training and take advantage of door-knocking.
